Meet the Maker

Christian Matchett, Owner of Matchett Leather Goods

I was raised in Montana and now have lived in Georgia since 1998. A chemist by trade, I've always enjoyed making things with my hands, learning from my family the value of an honest day's work and doing things yourself.

A few years ago, I was restoring an old Estwing hammer and needed to rebuild the stacked leather handle. After finishing that project, I looked for other things to build out of the rest of the leather. That exploration ignited a fire for leathercraft within me, and the hobby quickly turned into passion. Friends, family, and colleagues soon started asking for custom leather goods and Matchett Leather Goods grew naturally from there.

I hope to share my excitement for leathercraft with you, in creating classic items that last. Whether you are ordering an item for yourself, a loved one, or wholesale merchandise for your own customers, I want the experience to be smooth and stress free. The variety of options can be intimidating, and I will help guide you along the way.

Thank you for visiting my website. Please send me an email, and I can talk you through the process of design and ordering.

The Matchett Leather Goods logo represents those times in life when you think you're going to continue on a straight path, but then you take that unexpected turn. The diverging arrow signifies our turn towards leathercraft and the exciting new adventures that lie up ahead!
